I had my first internet experience when I was 15, I was so afraid to navigate the net. Those times we had only limited access to internet, that too at school. So it was only by 16 years when I owned a computer and a dial up internet connection, that I could really connect to the net. The precise moment I got an internet connection, i realized how this thing is going to make a change in my life, something like a life long partnership.

Google Search

The first web page I visited was Yahoo( Those days yahoo was more popular). I opened an email address and started by searching in yahoo.I didn’t know what Google was, I searched GOOGLE on yahoo and got a seach result showing google. I clicked on it and landed on the google search page. That precise moment my life changed. A new world of oppurtunities dawned on me.Websites, blogs(the meaning of which I learned months later), email and many more.

Blogger (Blogspot) and Adsense

I started my first blog in blogger( about health topics), and ran it for sometime and google told me I could put advertisements on my blog,I was even more thrilled. I posted more and more topics and grew my readership, but no clicks were coming. I was sad, and one day, my first click came.I started my second blog and third. By three months I got my first cheque from Adsense.Suddenly I became an eaner. I could spend my money as I wished. So I decided to start a website and later another one. Generating a decent living.

Google Analytics

This is one of those tools which every webpublisher needs. I could track the performance of my blog posts and how much traffic they generated, by visiting the google analytics page. This helped me greatly increse my income.

Google Readerand feedburner

Google reader is the feed aggregator I use, it is easy to navigate.Websites could be added with ease. In a few months I was sitting over loads of content, I read all these contents from different websites, right from the google reader on my desktop.

I used feedburner ( RSS feed service) even before google acquired and I still use it for my blogs.It has helped increase the readership of my blogs greatly.

Google webmaster tools

Google webmaster tools is a free service which helps you to gain control over your domain. Generate email ID’s for your users and many more.I have been using this service from the very beginning.

Google notebook and google desktop

I discovered google notebook very early and used it to cut and paste content which I found very useful. I discovered google desktop rather late, but has found it to be very useful as a search tool.(It searches desktop and even downloaded contents, search inside documents too).

Google docsand spreadsheets

Online spreadsheet application and document editor. You can upload content upto 500KB as a single document and export it as PDF. Best PDF creater available, free of cost.

Gmail,gtalk and orkut

I hope there is no need for introducing gmail. It has been my favorite for long. With all the facilities it provide, I love gmail. Gtalk is a good application too, but it is a bit slow and needs higher bandwidth. Orkut has helped me network with my friends and find useful contacts.

Youtube and google videos

Best services available in their own fields. Loads of tutorials I have found in youtube. It has helped me a lot. Lately I learned some memory tricks from youtube.No wonder youtube grows faster and faster. You can even download youtube videos using the youtube downloader application. Use FLV converter to convert these to usable formats.

Google news and google finance

I started trading in the stock markets about an year back. I have been using google news for up to date news on market and businesses. Google finance is an excellent tool, because it has realtime quotes at absolutely no cost.Both these tools have been very helpful for me in the long run and hope these will remain as free services for years to come.

Google chrome, the google browser

Google has just launched their browser, google chrome. It is a fast browser with many features which I love. It has an incognito window, which help you to browse without leaving a trace. Hope google comes up with more updates for this browser.

Google adwords,google checkout,google base

For advertisers and website owners. I never tried google adwords because I never felt a need to do so for driving traffic to my website. Google checkout is useful for online business men and online shop owners. A service similar to paypal. Goolge base can be used as a database .

Google sites and google pages

You can create content ,publish and generate income from these. These are easy to operate services with tools to help you in your tasks. Many individuals use google sites to connect to family memers and friends.

The list is not finished.I just mentioned some of googles services which have been very useful to me.Google services like Google Scholar,Google trends,Google translate,google books,Google Calendar,Google groups etc. have been left out in the process.Check all these out for learning more about them.
